Jacob Bromwell born in 1785 fought in the War of 1812, less than a decade later he founded The Bromwell Brush and Wire Goods Company in Cincinatti, Ohio. The company is the oldest housewares company in America and pioneered many products that are still used and manufactured today, including the sifter.
