Folding chairs were only just coming into the fold in America in the 1940's, shortly therafter they would become the mainstream products they are today.

Jesse Shwayder founded Shwayder Bros., Inc out of Denver in 1910. The "Samson" line took it's name from the biblical strongman Samson, these chairs are a testament to the implied integrity, still sturdy and working perfectly 80 years on.

In 1965 Shwayder Bros officially changed the company name to Samsonite, the luggage giant still in business today.
