Handcoloured botanical illustration drawn from nature by Rebecca Hey from her own publication, Spirit of the Woods, printed by London, Longman, Rees, 1837. Rebecca Hey was a Victorian writer, poet and artist who wrote also Moral of Flowers 1833 and Recollections of the Lakes 1841. The plates were most likely engraved by William Clark former draughtsman to the London Horticultural Society and engraver on Hey's previous book.
